The Osona region is located in Catalonia and encompasses a total of 51 municipalities, all of them with an important tradition in terms of sausage production. They are also known producers of truffles, legumes or cheeses, among other gastronomic delicacies.

The tradition of making sausages dates back to ancient times, when salting was used to preserve food for long periods of time. This tradition joined another, that of raising, slaughtering the pig and later making sausages. A custom that is still today in many rural areas. Thanks to this, Vic became nationally and internationally recognized.

As a curious fact, we will tell you that Alfonso XII was one of the most renowned Vic sausages lover. It is said that every time he visited the area, the visit to the sausage factory was a mandatory stop.
